ACRRM Emergency Medicine Study Guide Aaron Sparshott The aim of this guide is provide an approach and resources to those intending to work as Rural Generalists and in particular registrars preparing for assessment in the Emergency Medicine Advanced Skill through the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). The ACRRM ALS Course meets the standards for Advanced Life Support level 2 as defined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, and the ACRRM Advanced Life Support CPD requirements to complete and ALS course each triennium. The course is also eligible for Online Self-Directed Learning: 8 hours educational activity The guidelines also acknowledge that different settings have different structures in place. For example, supervision in a tertiary public hospital is different to that in rural general practice. This is separate to accreditation of the training post against RACGP and/or ACRRM standards for general practice education and training. 7 ACRRM undertook a scan of Australian guidelines and standards, which were also considered in the design of the Framework.
