Frequency of the driver board running a stepper motor
Does anyone know the frequency of the driver board in running a stepper motor? How much delay did you guys give between each firing sequence?

it;s however fast an instruction is (like 400 ns I think??) I gave a Half second delay between setting each bit high....which is slow, but it works

The weird thing is that our stepper can go fast on the driver board but if I use my pic and circuit, it needs to have a minimum of 17 ms delay between each firing sequence and this is too slow.

i'm having a problem of when there isn't anything on the stepper it can rotate, but as soon as I put my tray on it, it couldn't rotate (it even rotate inversely). And I think this has something to do with torque and frequency. My circuit members also said that when she used the driver board, the stepper motor used to be able to carry lots of things and rotate like crazy.
