How do you know if the data has successfully been written to the EEPROM?
I tried reading and then writing (in that exact sequence) - it works. But if I erase the writing part - it doesn't see anything being written there. Does this mean that it doesn't work? Or how do i check if it worked?

if you open pic usb, push read, and then click the eeprom window, you should be able to see what is in the eeprom...

take a day off... It's better for your health 

or better yet, take a week off it's better for the rest of us in that it makes us feel better about taking the time off...

where can you see W though?

 You can't display it in the debugger...

Oh I just tested it - it does remember stuff (I made sure it remembers user input after power is shut down), but I could not view it through PICUsb for some reason. Neither from MPLAB X

Open picusb and press verify because it should show it...
